The Palette…

…and here is my take on the palette. These colours were definately out of my comfort zone but I just love how this turned out.

Of course some closeups…

The background has been lightly sprayed with Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine Spray over the A2Z Scraplets Broken Gate 12×12 Mask. Very subtly. I have then cut and distressed all my patterned paper pieces and mounted them onto Brown Cardstock and distressed.

IMG_3858

To decorate the A2Z Scraplets Chipboard Clock with Cogs, I have painted it with Brown Crackle Paint, allowd to dry, then sprayed with various Brown Shimmery Sprays and dried with my heat gun making sure lots of puddles of brown formed to create a more aged look.

IMG_3859

When the layout was complete, I decided to add some pearls and drops around the page randomly. I have also painted the edges of all the flower petals and the Sweet title with Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine.

Prima May BAP & Scrapbooking from Scratch May Quote Challenge

If you are here for my giveaway, click here. Only 1 more days to enter!

Hi everyone! I am back to share another quick layout with you all today that I have based on this month’s Prima Marketing BAP Challenge and I have also incorporated the Scrapbooking From Scratch May Quote Challenge  also. Click here to view the Prima May Challenge Blog Post and click here to visit the Scrapbooking From Scratch Gallery to see all this month’s challenges.

Here is the Prima BAP Sketch for the month of May and the Quote over at SFS is “Girlfriends are the sisters we pick out for ourselves”

So here is my take on the sketch and the quote. I actually mucked up the quote a little whoops but it still works. I have used the fabulous Prima Marketing Firefly Collection papers.

tn_The3AmigosByAmyPrior

To add more texture to the background, I have added some Gesso using the Prima Donna Downey Random Dots Stencil and I smudged it a little so I decided to scrape the circles down the page to add a more smeared effect. There is never any mistakes in art LOL. When this was dry, I have dripped some Chalkboard Mists & Lindys Stamp Gang Mists down the page and then stamped some random areas with a Tim Holtz Texture Stamp using some Turquoise Perfect Pearls Powder.

tn_The3AmigosByAmyPrior2

I have used a bunch of Prima Shabby Resin, Flowers, Bling & Alpha for this layout as well as some Prima Donna Downey Canvas Script Flags that I have sprayed with some Chalkboard mists.

tn_The3AmigosByAmyPrior4

I have then added some Gesso to the edges of the Flags, and threaded through some Twine to add the banner over my layout.  I then grabbed some American Crafts Thickers to spell out Amigos and stuck them down to my Ranger Craft Sheet so I could easily sand them back a tad before adhering to my flags using some Ranger Glossy Accents.

tn_The3AmigosByAmyPrior5

I just love how this layout has turned out. Some random smearing of Gesso onto some of the Prima Alpha and a Pink Paislee Mistable Arrow added then my layout was complete. As you can see I have twisted and added to the original sketch a little (the banner was added) .

My adhesives by choice are always Helmar including Scrap Dots, 450 Glue & others.

Well that is it from me today, thanks so much for reading and until next time, happy scrapping!

The Color Room Palette#151

If you are here for my giveaway, click here for more info! Only 5 more days to get your entries in. Just comment and/or share to win!

Hello everyone! I am back today to share a layout created using this fortnight’s The Color Room palette. Click here to visit the Color Room website to join in the fun…

So here is this fortnight’s palette. Perfect for boy layouts and very out of my comfort zone so was a fun challenge.

151

Here is my layout using these colours. Yum…Icecream in Nelson Bay.

TCR#151_AmyPrior

I had fun creating my background using 7 Dots Studio Patterned Paper and some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists and Lindys Stamp Gang Starburst Stain Sprays. I have also used strips of various papers from BoBunny, Heidi Swapp, Prima, as well as some old book paper.

IcecreamAtNelsonsBayByAmyPrior2

Washi Tape was also added with some lace and an A2Z Scraplets scalloped piece which was actually a scalloped nested frame trimmed. I have simply coated this with some Perfect Pearls powder.

IcecreamAtNelsonsBayByAmyPrior3

Above the strips of Washi Tape and Paper, I have added an A2Z Scraplets Heart & Swirl 7 Chipboard that has been simply coated with a layer of Cardboard Simply Jane Mist from Tattered Angels, and then some Stickles on the little hearts. I didn’t focus any details on the large heart because I knew I wanted to cover that with my photos.

IcecreamAtNelsonsBayByAmyPrior4

Some old book paper was used to mount the photos and then some Helmar Scrap Dots helped me add them to my layout with a little height. Lots of fabulous flowers from Prima, Kaisercraft, Manor House Creations & Green Tara are nestled on top of a beautiful Flourish with a Bling Pearl Flourish.

Finally some alpha for the title and a little doodling/journalling then voila! my finished page. I have used Ranger Coffee Brown Archival Ink for all my distressing as well.

Well that is it from me today, Be sure to check back tomorrow for another layout share. Until next time, happy scrapping!

Mirror Mirror on the wall…

Good morning, good day and good night everybody!

Amy here to share a fabulous off the page project that I recently created using some fabulous A2Z Scraplets Chipboard pieces. Did you know A2Z Scraplets sells retail now and at crazy affordable prices? Seriously click here to go shopping after you read my post of course LOL.

My neice’s birthday party was yesterday and unfortunately I had completely forgotten about it until Saturday afternoon. In all fairness, my whole family has been sick for over a week AND I held a huge Alice in Wonderland Themed Birthday party joint for me and my daughter on Saturday so I have been seriously preoccupied. Anywho, I was out of funds and out of time and all I could do was make some fabulous gifts for her to enjoy.

out for publication - Page 001

I had this fabulous giant Kaisercraft Mirror that I have literally been hoarding for about 3 years. I just knew it would be perfect especially because my brother and his partner are just about to buy their first home and will be able to decorate to their hearts content (as opposed to rentals where it seems you aren’t allowd to put a nail in the wall anywhere).

To start off this creation, I wanted to add lots of different texture. To create the texture, I have added random strips of masking tape, some gel medium that I have swirled a pattern into, as well as 2 A2Z Scraplets Floralette 4 Flourishes. I turned one around so they are mirrored on either side and adhered with some Gel Medium.

The next step was some pretty lace around the inside of the frame and followed by a couple of coats of Gesso to prime my surface. I used a really thin Gesso because I didn’t want to lose my texture but because it was thin, I needed a couple of layers.

Because I was short for time, I have heat dried with my heat tool in between each and every step. I literally created this and one other project in less than 3 hours which is great because I am impatient! The next step was to spray lots of beautiful coloured sprays over the surface. I went with a mixture of Pink, Yellow, Blue & Purple and used a variation of Dylusions Ink Sprays, Lindys Stampgang Starburst Sprays as well as some Glimmer Mists. I didn’t want the colours to mud up too much but blend a tad so I have only sprayed 1 colour at a time in random spots and then heat dried, then repeat etc etc.

Again I have heat set all that beautiful colour when I was happy and I then wanted to highlight the beautiful texture and detail but it in a subtle and pretty way. I decided to mix some Texture Paste with White Acrylic Paint and then, using my finger, I have highlighted all the raised areas including the chipboard, lace and along the edges of the entire mirror. I added some green Liquid Pearls to the leaves on my chipboard to bring them out a little and to add some more green to the mix.

The final additions were lots of beautiful Prima Marketing Flowers shabbied up using my finger and paint/texture paste mix just on the tips of the flowers.

The result was really breathtaking and I was so proud that I got both this and another amazing gift completed  in such a short time for my niece. Luckily I have a box here of cards already made because I forgot to make a card in my creative session LOL. Anywho, I will be back in a few days time to share the second fabulous Off the Page Project that I made for my beautiful Neice. This time, a treasure box!

To view and purchase the A2Z Scraplets Floralette 04 Chipboard Flourish click here or on the image below.

For adhesives, Helmar is always my first choice including my everyday friends Scrapdots, 450 & Decoupage.

Don’t forget to check out this month’s colour challenge post here and tune in in a few days time to see the next handmade gift for my darling niece. Until next time, happy scrapping!

Heidi Swapp You Rock My World!

If you are here for my giveaway, click here for more info!

Hi everyone! I hope you are all well. I have an exciting announcement to share on Friday eeekk so very exciting!

Today I wanted to share a quick layout with you all using the fabulous Heidi Swapp Sugar Chic range along with my Silhouette Cameo Machine.

out for publication - Page 001

How cute is this photo of my girls? I know you have seen this photo a lot lately because I chose to use it a lot in Mothers Day gift making etc. Finally I get to scrap a layout for me using this fab photo and I have printed it this time 5×7 inches.

TogetherYouRockMyWorldByAmyPrior2

It’s fun to sometimes work with really large photos but it also really easy to go over the top so I wanted to keep the layout simple with some clever layering and fabulous pops of colour.

TogetherYouRockMyWorldByAmyPrior3

I have first trimmed my white cardstock and rounded the corners, I have then cut from the white cardstock, half of the title using my Silhouette Cameo Machine. I also have cut a fabulous Wavy Chevron Design with my Cameo using the black Heidi Swapp Paper.

TogetherYouRockMyWorldByAmyPrior4

I just cannot get enough of banners LOL. I think they are one trend that has been around forever and will never get old. Well I will always love them!

Final touches were some doodling and gorgeous little Studio Calico Wood Veneer Stars. The white cardstock had splatters of Tattered Angels Yellow Chalkboard Mist and I chose to place the stars on these little bursts of colour.

Heidi Swapp Buzz Word, Sequin Arrow along with a Charms Creations Heavenly Heart and the layout was complete.

Well that is it from me today, be sure to check in on Friday with my big announcement sooo exciting.

Until next time, happy scrapping!
