I couldn’t believe it and all us DT gals got some to play with too. Click here to visit the White with 1 Blog and enter today.

So the colour this month is Pistachio and wow the design team did an awesome job with this one. Here is my take on the the challenge…

I just adore this photo of my eldest Mia. Both my girls had just finished rolling down a huge hill local to us called the skillion. It was their first time rolling down a hill and they thought I was so silly for suggesting it until they got to the bottom. They were so full of energy getting back up and running back up the hill to come roll back down it was such a fabulous day. Our whole church had just finished walking up the skillion with a cross for Good Friday and it truly was a magnificent day.

The background was created using Modelling Paste and a Heidi Swapp stencil over some White Cardstock. I have heat dried the modelling paste using my heat gun which created lots of bubbles and interesting texture. I then went to my stash and found whatever papers that I could find with either white neutral patterns or pistachio coloured. Man it was hard cause I found about 50 odd pieces of paper and then I had to sort out which ones to use LOL.

The papers are from various brands including My Minds Eye, Basic Grey, Websters Pages, Echo Park Paper Co, Stampin Up, Authentique and the polaroid frame on my photo is from Heidi Swapp.

I had some patterned glassine bags from Fancy Pants that I thought was close enough for me to use to hide my journalling tag in so I have layered that underneath and my tag pulls out to reveal the description of the day pretty much just as I outlined in my above comments.

Bush Dance Invitations

Hi everyone! I am back today to share a quick project with you all. I seem to be the go to gal for handmade invites lately and everyone from my church and all the school mums are giving me orders LOL it is overwhelming. Today I have some Bush Dance 40th birthday invitations to show you. Ok so I wasn’t 100% sure what a bush dance was but trusty Google jogged my memory and I have come up with these akubra hat invitations using my Silhouette Cameo Machine.

The cardstock that I have used is a variety of Bazzil, Kaisercraft & other brands as you can see, I did not have enough of the same colours so have varied them up a bit but I think they turned out great.

That’s it from me today, I know such a sad little post but I will be back with more tomorrow but until next time, happy scrapping!

Giraffe Baby Shower Invitations

Are you here for my June/July Giveaway? Click here for more info after you have read this post of course :)

Hi everyone! I wanted to come by and quickly share some more super cute baby shower invitations that I have recently made. We have 2 fabulous ladies at church who are due to have babies only a couple of weeks apart so when I made the uber cute duck invitations for Leanee, well Ailish wanted some too LOL. Ailish loves Giraffes so I went and found the cutest Giraffe svg file from http://www.svgcuts.com and got started.

I had to create a card shape for the giraffe to be mounted on and although it isn’t perfect, it did the trick.

I made 45 of these with the help of my fabulous friend Nicole. I actually cut a few corners and ended up having to recut a lot of these. I definately think SVG cuts needs to work on the elements on this file more but overall Ailish was super happy which is all that matters of course.

Baby Shower Invitations

Are you here for my Jun/July Giveaway? Click here for more info after you have read this post of course 🙂

Hi everyone! I am back to quickly share some invitations that I just made this week for a fabulous lady at church who is expecting her 3rd bubba. With moving etc I thought I wouldn’t get these done in time but alas, I started Thursday night and got them finished yesterday thanks to my beautiful friend Nicole who was here for lunch yesterday and helped me sew the buttons together.

To create these invitations, I have used my Silhouette Cameo to print the details on the inside then to cut the duck shape out. The duck shape came with the beak as a seperate cutout but I decided that I wanted to use it as a wing instead and you can hardly tell it was meant to be a beak right? LOL love improvising as I go.

The cute eyes are some fabulous Flourish with a Bling Pearls in Chocolate and the patterned paper I have used is from Simple Stories Baby Steps Collection. I chose these papers because they are super cute and fun but also because they are gender neutral. Although there is pink and blues it is very subtle and the gender of this particular baby is not yet known.

The final touches on the ducks was to add some inking around the edges using Ranger Coffee Coloured Archival Ink and then some buttons and twine and voila! 30 gorgeous little ducky Baby Shower Invitations ready to be handed out.

Aren’t they just too cute? I already have another order for Giraffe Baby Shower Invites so keep an eye out for those.

Until next time, happy scrapping!

Mirror Mirror on the wall…

Good morning, good day and good night everybody!

Amy here to share a fabulous off the page project that I recently created using some fabulous A2Z Scraplets Chipboard pieces. Did you know A2Z Scraplets sells retail now and at crazy affordable prices? Seriously click here to go shopping after you read my post of course LOL.

My neice’s birthday party was yesterday and unfortunately I had completely forgotten about it until Saturday afternoon. In all fairness, my whole family has been sick for over a week AND I held a huge Alice in Wonderland Themed Birthday party joint for me and my daughter on Saturday so I have been seriously preoccupied. Anywho, I was out of funds and out of time and all I could do was make some fabulous gifts for her to enjoy.

I had this fabulous giant Kaisercraft Mirror that I have literally been hoarding for about 3 years. I just knew it would be perfect especially because my brother and his partner are just about to buy their first home and will be able to decorate to their hearts content (as opposed to rentals where it seems you aren’t allowd to put a nail in the wall anywhere).

To start off this creation, I wanted to add lots of different texture. To create the texture, I have added random strips of masking tape, some gel medium that I have swirled a pattern into, as well as 2 A2Z Scraplets Floralette 4 Flourishes. I turned one around so they are mirrored on either side and adhered with some Gel Medium.

The next step was some pretty lace around the inside of the frame and followed by a couple of coats of Gesso to prime my surface. I used a really thin Gesso because I didn’t want to lose my texture but because it was thin, I needed a couple of layers.

Because I was short for time, I have heat dried with my heat tool in between each and every step. I literally created this and one other project in less than 3 hours which is great because I am impatient! The next step was to spray lots of beautiful coloured sprays over the surface. I went with a mixture of Pink, Yellow, Blue & Purple and used a variation of Dylusions Ink Sprays, Lindys Stampgang Starburst Sprays as well as some Glimmer Mists. I didn’t want the colours to mud up too much but blend a tad so I have only sprayed 1 colour at a time in random spots and then heat dried, then repeat etc etc.

Again I have heat set all that beautiful colour when I was happy and I then wanted to highlight the beautiful texture and detail but it in a subtle and pretty way. I decided to mix some Texture Paste with White Acrylic Paint and then, using my finger, I have highlighted all the raised areas including the chipboard, lace and along the edges of the entire mirror. I added some green Liquid Pearls to the leaves on my chipboard to bring them out a little and to add some more green to the mix.

The final additions were lots of beautiful Prima Marketing Flowers shabbied up using my finger and paint/texture paste mix just on the tips of the flowers.

The result was really breathtaking and I was so proud that I got both this and another amazing gift completed  in such a short time for my niece. Luckily I have a box here of cards already made because I forgot to make a card in my creative session LOL. Anywho, I will be back in a few days time to share the second fabulous Off the Page Project that I made for my beautiful Neice. This time, a treasure box!
