Preschool Pic 2013 Berry71Bleu September Challenge

Howdy everybody. I am back today to share a fabulous layout with you all that I have recently created for the Berry71Bleu September Sketch Challenge. The extra requirement for this month’s challenge is to use Mixed Media and you can view the challenge details here on the Berry71Bleu Challenge Blog...

This layout I have created using one of the awesome kits available from A2Z Scraplets which you can find here.

tn_IMG_3900

To create my background, I have covered my white cardstock with random shaped and sized paper doilies. I wanted to add lots of subtle texture to the background and I have covered them completely in Mod Podge Matte.

tn_IMG_3901

Next I have sprayed some various Lindy Stamp Gang sprays using a Prima Marketing Static Mask. I only sprayed very small sections randomly in 3 different colours. I have then swiped an embossing ink pad over the entire background gently so I grabbed some of the texture and not just covered the lot and then I have sprinkled some Lindy Stamp Gang Embossing Powder over the top and heat set.

tn_IMG_3902

The papers that I have used are from the Firefly Collection from Prima Marketing and the flowers are a combination of Flourish with a Bling, Green Tara, Kaisercraft & Prima Marketing. When layering my distressed patterned papers, I have included some ripped and torn cheescloth in between.

tn_IMG_3903

I have finished off the layout using some of the torn pieces of cheesecloth placed over my flower clusters and then added some random sequins to match the drips on the sketch.

Here is the sketch from Berry71Bleu this month. Don’t forget to head on over and have a go there are awesome prizes up for grabs always.

Now onto the layout. I have created this fabulous layout using the new A2Z Scraplets Love You Chipboard title. You can see the first installment of new releases over on the A2Z Scraplets Blog here.

tn_IMG_3345

To decorate the chipboard title, I have sprayed the chipboard with lots of Heidi Swapp Color Shine Teal and then allowed to dry completely before adding some Helmar Crackle Medium Step 1 & 2. I wanted the cracks to show up better so I have rubbed some Yellow Ranger Liquid Pearls into the cracks and then wiped most of it from the top layer so the cracks stayed yellow.

tn_IMG_3346

The papers that I have used for this layout are from the Echo Park Paper Co Beautiful Life Collection. I just adored layering these beautiful patterns together and lots of fabulous stitching details added that extra definition to each layer.

tn_IMG_3347

The background was created with a simple piece of White 12×12 Bazzil cardstock and a fabulous 12×12 Heidi Swapp Stencil alongside 2 shades of her Color Shine, Peach & Mustard. To create this ombre effect, I have simply sprayed over the stencil, first the peach into the centre, then the mustard on the outter edges then spraying each colour toward each other until I had the desired effect. You could do this with lots of different contrasting colour sprays also.

tn_IMG_3348

A few extra touches including doilies, tags, tickets, twine, Pink Paislee Artisan Elements, Studio Calico Ephemera and a fussy cut banner from one of the papers and I was finished.

tn_IMG_3349

I decided to do hidden journalling under one of the layers which you can see here pulled out.

Well that is it from me today, be sure to check back tomorrow for some more fabulous inspiration and until next time, happy scrapping!

Pure Love – July A2Z Scraplets New Release Chipboard – Clock with Clogs

Are you here for my June/July Giveaway? Click here for more info after you have read this post of course :)

Hi everyone! Today I am here to start sharing my creations for the fabulous A2Z Scraplets July Releases. Now you can see the first lot of releases on the A2Z Scraplets blog here but full details of other product inclusions will be on my blog in the coming days, one project at a time.

First up is a fabulous canvas that I have created using the new A2Z Scraplets Clocks with Cogs. This canvas was 100% inspired by the infamous Finnabair. Not sure who Finnabair is? Where have you been? LOL you can check out her blog here. She is one of my fave idols in this industry.

tn_IMG_3330

To create this canvas, I have first adhered tonnes of fun embellishments including the chipboard clock with cogs to the canvas using Gel Medium. I have applied thicker layer of the Gel Medium in some sections and then scraped away with this fabulous little artsy tool that I have which I don’t know the name but a plastic fork would do the trick also LOL.

tn_IMG_3331

I wanted to add more texture to the clock with cogs before I began to pain the canvas so I have painted a thick layer of Tim Holtz Ranger Crackle Paint over the clock and allowed to dry. I have then painted the entire canvas with Black Gesso including painting some of the elements like buttons etc that were too pale for the palette that I chose.

tn_IMG_3332

I have then adhered my photo which was fussy cut out, then have covered the photo as best as I could with some baby wipes ready to start spraying!

tn_IMG_3333

I have used 3 different shades of Heidi Swapp Color Shine to spray the entire canvas. To avoid muddy colours, I have dried each colour layer in between. When I had achieved the colours that I was happy with, I have then used Inka Gold from Viva Decor in Gold, to rub all over the raised surfaces to show up the dimension better.

tn_IMG_3334

I was pretty stoked with how this canvas turned out although I am far from being anywhere near as good as Finn.

Other Products used to complete this project include…
Matisse Gel Medium
Matisse Black Gesso
Tim Holtz Ideaology various
Handmade Halo Charms
Prima Marketing Flowers Various
Prima Marketing Metal Flowers
Prima Marketing Branch
Punchinella
Handmade Halo Resin
Helmar Scrap Dots
Helmar 450
Masking Tape

Check back tomorrow to see another new release A2Z Scraplet creation.

Until next time, happy scrapping!

Berry71Bleu April Challenge

If you are here for my giveaway, click here for more info!

Hi everyone! I hope you are all well and enjoying this lovely Friday where ever you are.

Today I am here to share with you my entry into April’s Berry71bleu Challenge which you can view here.

This month’s challenge is “April Showers bring May Flowers”. Of course here in Australia we are gearing up for Winter but in the US the flowers are in bloom and this fabulous picture board was actually created of photos from the Berry71bleu Designer Debbie’s garden! How awesome! I wish my garden looked this pretty.

So the challenge is simple, show off some beautiful flowers and I certainly hope I have done the challenge justice with this gorgeous layout…

IMG_2124

How precious is my girl Mia? This was the hospital photo taken by the professionals who go around the local Maternity Ward. This photo was so large that I wanted to frame it but thought it was too plain and white with the terry toweling background she was laying on.

IMG_2125 IMG_2126

As you can see, I decided that Mia was going to be laying in a bed of flowers, literally. I fussy cut out the picture of her sleeping and then using some gorgeous Maja Designs Vintage Summer Basics Papers I got to work. First off I have layered some Cheesecloth that was ripped and torn up using some Ranger Studio Multi Medium. When this was layered, I have added a very VERY thick layer of Helmar Scrap Dots into the centre of the back of the photo and stuck into place lightly so it is raised about 1 inch from the layout.

IMG_2127

While the scrapdots were still wet, I have gone to town literally with flowers galore out of my stash. Brands include Handmade Halo, Manor House Creations, Prima, Green Tara, Kaisercraft & more. When all the flowers were in place, I have cut up some Flourish with a Bling flourishes to suit the layout and then adhered some single pearls around the page  also.

The final touches were to add some white paint to the tips of the flowers to shabby them up a bit, and then to add some of my fave embellishments, of course, the Handmade Halo Antique Brass Charms. How perfect are they as an addition to any layout? There is literally hundreds and thousands of different types.

The Original Photo had a frame printed on in white and at the bottom of the frame was the information “Mia Tiana Prior Born on 23rd May 2007”. I didn’t want to overwhelm the layout more with a massive title so I decided to cut this strip of information out and trimmed the ends to look like a banner. Finally a little touch of Tim Holtz Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink (which I also used around the edges of the layout) and voila! Another completed layout in a suprisingly short amount of time.

This will of course have to be framed in a shadow box I think and put on display as it is just too pretty (not to mention 3Dimensional) to go into an album.

Don’t forget to head on over to www.handmadehalo.com.au and pickup some fabulous Antique Brass Charms and mulberry flowers.

Until next time, happy scrapping.
