Berry71Bleu June Challenge

Are you here for my June/July Giveaway? Click here for more info after you have read this post of course :)

Hi everyone can you believe I squeezed in another last minute challenge entry for June? Yep the Berry71Bleu Challenge for June was Summer Theme and I had these fabulous photos of my girls rolling down the grassy hill at Terrigal that were dying to be scrapped.

tn_IMG_3314

I was lucky enough to purchase the June A Piece of Cake Designs Kit and additional kit which I have used for this layout.

tn_IMG_3315

I decided to challenge myself to go back to an older technique that I haven’t used in a while. Tearing. I decided I wanted to tear everything and I have torn the papers, photos and elements which were parts of patterned papers that were included.

tn_IMG_3316

I also thought the black background was such a fun contrast and I cannot remember the last time I used a black background.

tn_IMG_3317

I am so happy with how this layout turned out for such minimal effort. All the wooden veneer Basic Grey Hipster pieces were coloured using the Crayola Watercolor Paints that came in the kit and I have added lots of random stitching the layout to finish it off alongside some fabulous star sequins that came in the kit also.

Thanks for looking and don’t forget to leave me some love so I can come visit you too.

Until next time, happy scrapping!

Scrapbooking From Scratch May Sketch Challenge

If you are here for my giveaway, click here. Only 2 more days to enter!

Hi everyone, just a quick share today from me. I have entered the Scrapbooking From Scratch Sketch Challenge this month with only a couple of days to spare before closing date.

Here is the sketch and you can visit the Scrapbooking From Scratch Website here.

So here is my take on the sketch. As you can see, I have changed it a little to suit the layout that I wanted and I went with some Banners instead of Chevrons.

FunAtHunterValleyGardensByAmyPrior

The Patterned Paper, stickers & embellishments are from Heidi Swapp and there is also a Yellow Charms Creations Embellishment used.

FunAtHunterValleyGardensByAmyPrior2

To create the background, I have randomly coated a piece of Heidi Swapp Sugar Chic Papers with some Gesso. I then decided that I wanted to cut the strip down the side so out came the Silhouette Cameo Machine and a Princess Crown Border file.

FunAtHunterValleyGardensByAmyPrior3

When the Gesso was dry, I have adhered some lace, tickets and some more Heidi Swapp Sugar Chic paper to make the layout 12×12 again and then I have randomly stamped some Chicken Wire over the entire page using the Tim Holtz Cling Rubber Stamp along with some Ranger Archival Ink in Coffee.

FunAtHunterValleyGardensByAmyPrior4

The chicken wire Chipboard is from A2Z Scraplets of course, and was cut to suit my layout. I have covered the chipboard with a layer of Metallic Pink Acrylic Paint from Viva Decor and then have spraying some Hot Patootie Pink Lindys Stamp Gang Starburst Stain Spray over the top letting it pool up a little for a more interesting textured colour.

I have then simply layered lots of fabulous papers from Heidi Swapp’s Sugar Chic collection, added some Doodling and stickers and Bob’s your uncle, I was finished.

That’s it from me today, be sure to check back regularly for more inspiration and until next time, happy scrapping!

Can You Please Smile

If you are here for my giveaway, click here. Only 15 more days to enter!

Hello there! So lovely to have you all here. I hope you are all well and in good health. My poor little family has suffered from a nasty virus this week and we are slowly getting back to the land of the living. Not fun at all. Unfortunately this means I have rested and cared for my babies all week long and haven’t had a chance to scrap much. On Monday however, I did get this layout finished that I wanted to share…

CanYouPleaseSmileByAmyPrior

To create this layout, I have used various elements from the Prima Marketing Tea Thyme Collection. I just adore this collection of whimsy pretty patterns, I mean who doesn’t? Girly girl lines are always a huge fave of mine and I especially love the flowers used on this collection.

CanYouPleaseSmileByAmyPrior2

The background paper I chose was already so perfect however I wanted to add more texture using a stencil and some machine stitching. I have simply used some Texture Paste with the Donna Downey Prima Stencil to create the most subtle effect. The edges have been distressed a lot using a nail file.

CanYouPleaseSmileByAmyPrior3   CanYouPleaseSmileByAmyPrior4   CanYouPleaseSmileByAmyPrior5

The hidden journalling outlines the story of this too cute photo and is nestled under a gorgeous Satin Seam Binding Bow. The chipboard bird is, of course, from A2Z Scraplets and has been embossed using WOW Embossing Powders in 4 different colours and then finished off with white embossing powder followed by some Lindys Stamp Gang Starburst Stain Spray. The textured effect was created by simply sponging on some Gesso to prime the chipboard before I applied any other products. Flourish with a Bling pearls finished off the flower centres just perfectly!

Well that is it from me today as I go off to finish cleaning up my house from the lovely week that was. Until next time, happy scrapping!

Heidi Swapp You Rock My World!

If you are here for my giveaway, click here for more info!

Hi everyone! I hope you are all well. I have an exciting announcement to share on Friday eeekk so very exciting!

Today I wanted to share a quick layout with you all using the fabulous Heidi Swapp Sugar Chic range along with my Silhouette Cameo Machine.

out for publication - Page 001

How cute is this photo of my girls? I know you have seen this photo a lot lately because I chose to use it a lot in Mothers Day gift making etc. Finally I get to scrap a layout for me using this fab photo and I have printed it this time 5×7 inches.

TogetherYouRockMyWorldByAmyPrior2

It’s fun to sometimes work with really large photos but it also really easy to go over the top so I wanted to keep the layout simple with some clever layering and fabulous pops of colour.

TogetherYouRockMyWorldByAmyPrior3

I have first trimmed my white cardstock and rounded the corners, I have then cut from the white cardstock, half of the title using my Silhouette Cameo Machine. I also have cut a fabulous Wavy Chevron Design with my Cameo using the black Heidi Swapp Paper.

TogetherYouRockMyWorldByAmyPrior4

I just cannot get enough of banners LOL. I think they are one trend that has been around forever and will never get old. Well I will always love them!

Final touches were some doodling and gorgeous little Studio Calico Wood Veneer Stars. The white cardstock had splatters of Tattered Angels Yellow Chalkboard Mist and I chose to place the stars on these little bursts of colour.

Heidi Swapp Buzz Word, Sequin Arrow along with a Charms Creations Heavenly Heart and the layout was complete.

Well that is it from me today, be sure to check in on Friday with my big announcement sooo exciting.

Until next time, happy scrapping!

Once Upon A Sketch April

If you are here for my giveaway, click here for more info!

Hi everybody! So glad to have you all here reading along with my artsy journey. It is so good to be back sharing my passion with you all.

Today I have a layout to share that was based on the April sketch on the Once Upon A Sketch Blog. Unfortunately my entry was too late but wanted to share anyway 🙂

Here is the sketch that Nadia has designed this month…

Here is my take on the sketch. I have used the gorgeous papers from Maja Design Vintage Summer Basics Line.

Can'tLiveWithoutMyGirlsByAmyPrior

To create the background, I have layered random snippets of my 6×6 Crafters Workshop Brick Stencil using a thick amount of Metallic Viva Acrylic Paint and a Palette Knife. Once this was dry, I have added some Champagne Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam over the top roughly to create a more vintage tone.

Can'tLiveWithoutMyGirlsByAmyPrior2

The paper pieces have been distressed using the Ingvild Blome Prima Distress Tool and then inked using Tim Holtz Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.

Can'tLiveWithoutMyGirlsByAmyPrior3

The fabulous A2Z Scraplets Chipboard Chicken Wire was cut to varying sizes to suit my layout and then painted with Viva Metallic Paint Mother of Pearl. The Title, which is also from A2Z, has been sprayed using Lindys Stampgang Moonshadow Starburst Stain Sprays. I just love these sprays because you get a variation of 2 different colour inks along with 2 different colour glimmers. The effect is truly incredible! I have added some little bits of Gesso with my finger on the top to shabby it up a little.

Can'tLiveWithoutMyGirlsByAmyPrior4

Majority of the gorgeous flowers are from Handmade Halo as well as all of the pretty little charms and the trim. I have added a small amount of gesso to the tips of the flowers to give them a more shabby feel and the charms have a small amount of Gesso plus Champagne Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam.

Be sure to head on over to the Handmade Halo website here and the A2Z Scraplets website here, to grab yourself some pretties. Don’t forget that A2Z Scraplets can also custom make anything you like, just click the custom order link on the website.

Well that’s it for now, until next time, happy scrapping!

You Brighten Up My Day

Hi everyone! I am over on the A2Z Scraplets Blog here today to share some last minute inspiration for this month’s A2Z Scraplets challenge. Have you entered yet? You can view the details here.

The challenge this month was set by the fabulous Belinda and is a quote challenge. The quote to use is “You Brighten Up My Day”.

out for publication - Page 001

For my layout I have used some fabulous bright Echo Park Papers  along with some white cardstock and Dylusions Ink Splatters.

The A2Z Scraplets I have used on this layout is the fabulous Starburst 2 – Large which comes in 2 pieces. I have used this piece so many times and I still have so many more ideas to use it.

For this layout I have trimmed the starburst inner piece to create random length banner looking starbursts. To decorate I have used a sponge and very roughly added some thin White Gesso followed by 3 different shades of PanPastel Colours. I started on the edgesWhite, then the middle with Diarylide Tint, followed by Diarylide Yellow in the very centre. Each time I added a darker colour, I have swept th Sofft Sponge outwards to create the gorgeous Gradual tone. To finish it off I have sprayed some Fixative and Laquer over the top.

You can checkout the Large Starburst 2 Shape on the A2Z Scraplets website here.

Don’t forget to head on over to the April Challenge here and enter before Midnight on the 30th April!

Also don’t forget to head on over to my Giveaway Blog Post here to enter to win!

Until next time, happy scrapping!
