Things That Make Me Smile Always Start With You

Hi there everybody! I hope you are all well, I have a quick random just because layout to share with you all today using the fabulous Echo Park Here & Now Collection but the 6×6 size! Yep I had so much fun just layering the 6×6 patterned papers together for this one and it looks so fabulous and how fun are the miniature versions of the printed papers eeekkk.

tn_ThingsThatMakeMeSmileByAmyPrior

Ok so my title needs to be outlined with Silver I have decided after editing these photos but the title is an A2Z Scraplets Chipboard Title that I have simply covered in some Black Ranger Stickles and I have layered the title over some Heidi Swapp Color Magic Banners which have been sprayed with Lindy’s Stamp Gang Starburst Stain Sprays. How fun are all the Heidi Swapp Color Magic stuff seriously I don’t think I will ever not love them they are so versatile and fun!

tn_ThingsThatMakeMeSmileByAmyPrior_Closeup1

My background was created using Dylusions Ink Sprays splattered and dripped and then I have finished off the background by inking the edges with Ranger Archival Ink and then added lots of random large circles with some Ranger Black Soot Tim Holtz Crackle Paint. To do this, you have to have the newer runnier versions of the Ranger Crackle Paint as the old versions were never runny and simply all I have done is used the lid paint brush that is included and dribbled circles over and over again and until I was happy. You could do this with regular acrylic paint easily also or ink but I wanted the cool Crackled effect.

tn_ThingsThatMakeMeSmileByAmyPrior_Closeup2

The fabulous Feather is from Manor House Creations and I am thinking that I need to purchase more of these aren’t they just divine? I have layered a few Flourish with a Bling goodies over the top of the feather and finished it off with a huge Donna Downey Prima Marketing Flower.

tn_ThingsThatMakeMeSmileByAmyPrior_Closeup3

The Live in the Moment Banner was fussy cut from one of the 12×12 Echo Park Paper Co Here & Now Papers and then I have inked the edges with the Ranger Archival Black Ink.

tn_ThingsThatMakeMeSmileByAmyPrior_Closeup4

Before I have layered all my papers together including some vellum, I have inked all the edges again with Ranger Archival Black Ink and using my Ranger Blending Tool.

Scrapbooking from Scratch with Jot Magazine

Howdy everybody!! I hope you are having a fabulous weekend wherever you are in the world. Today I wanted to come and share a quick layout that I have created based on the current Jot Magazine Mood Board Challenge which you can find on their website here, and Anita’s fabulous sketch challenge from Scrapbooking From Scratch which you can find all the information for right here.

Here is the Jot Magazine Mood Board that I have worked with…

…and here is Anita’s fabulous sketch from the Scrapbooking From Scratch Blog…

…and here is my take on these 2 fabulous challenges combined. I just adored these fabulous bright colours but man was I out of my comfort zone using them all together!

tn_StrikeaPoseByAmyPrior

The title of my layout is “Strike a Pose”and I have used the Strike a Pose A2Z Scraplets Chipboard title painted with some Gelatos in an Ombre effect and then given a top coat of Glossy Accents. Enamel elements seem to be really in fashion in the scrapbooking world at the moment and the easiest way to create faux enamel is with paint or patterned paper and Glossy Accents.

tn_StrikeaPoseByAmyPrior_closeup1

The patterned papers I have used are various from Studio Calico Hey Day Collection and a few different My Minds Eye Collections.

tn_StrikeaPoseByAmyPrior_closeup2

The elements all over the page are from various brands also including Heidi Swapp Banners, Pink Paislee Artisan Stars, My Minds Eye Die Cuts & Stickers, BoBunny Stickers, Jilibean Stickers, Basic Grey Stickers and so many more that I forget.

tn_StrikeaPoseByAmyPrior_closeup3

The tiny little alpha are from the Studio Calico Wood Veneer range and I have simply painted these with some Yellow Gelato to match my layout. The fabulous Corner arrow chipboard underneath my title has been coated with some Blue Polkadot Washi Tape from Queen & Co followed by some Glossy Accents to help add more of the faux enamel look.

tn_StrikeaPoseByAmyPrior_closeup4

I have used various Lindy’s Stamp Gang Starburst Stain Sprays including Delphinium Turquoise Blue, Tiffany Lou Blue, Yellow Rose of Texas, California Poppy Gold & Hag’s Wart Orange. These Lindy’s Sprays have been splattered over my background as well as being used to colour my Pink Paislee Artisan Elements Stars.

There are still 2 days left to get in your entries for both these challenges so go enter today!

Products used for this layout include…
Studio Calico Hey Day Collection Patterned Papers
Various My Minds Eye Papers, Die Cuts & Stickers
Various Basic Grey, Jilibean Soup, & BoBunny stickers
Heidi Swapp Color Magic Banners
Studio Calico Wood Veneer Alpha
A2Z Scraplets Strike A Pose Chipboard title

The Color Room Palette #160

Hi everybody! I hope you are all having a blessed day. The sun is shining here on the sunny Central Coast of NSW Australia and after the mini heat wave yesterday, it’s a perfect Spring day today.

Today I am back to share a quick layout with you all created for the new the Color Room challenge that has just been posted today. Remember you now have 2 WEEKS to get your TCR entries in which is super exciting! Checkout the Color Room website here or the Facebook page here to checkout this fortnight’s palette and enter for your chance to win some fabulous prizes from our sponsors!

Here is the palette. A fabulous bright palette for #160

160

Here is my take on the palette titled Fun Moments…

IMG_4062

I have lots of closeup shots for you of course. Checkout the background detail. I have used a Crafter’s Workshop 6×6 mask in each corner and then doodled and watercoloured some of the circles. Doesn’t it look fun?

IMG_4063

The papers are all random from my stash and include brands like My Minds Eye, BoBunny, Websters Pages, Pink Paislee, Fancy Pants & Authentique. I have also fussy cut the butterflies from an old piece of Kaisercraft Specialty Patterned Paper. How fun is the glitter on the butterflies!

IMG_4064

The kite sticker is from an old Echo Park collection and the Chalk frame is from the new My Minds Eye Chalk Studio Collection. I just love the contrast of the black on the frame as well as on the Heidi Swapp Acetate Banner.

IMG_4065

I have cut up a Flourish with a Bling Jasmine Puff Flourish and added it randomly plus I have added some flair from Lil Somethin & Fancy Pants.

IMG_4066

The watercolour on the background circles was actually created using Faber Castell Bubblegum Pink Gelato. The fabulous title is from the Pink Paislee Artisan Elements Words which are so fun to play with!

Products used for this layout include…
White Bazzil Double Thick Cardstock
Random Patterned Papers from Websters Pages, Kaisercraft, BoBunny, Pink Paislee, My Minds Eye, Authentique & Fancy Pants
Crafters Workshop Circle Explosion 6×6 Template
Reeves Modelling Paste

Fancy Pants Memories Captured Flair Button
My Minds Eye Chalk Studio Frame
Heidi Swapp Acetate Banners
Flowers from Prima Marketing & Manor House Creations

Daughter True Romance Shabby A2Z Scraplets

Hi everyone! I am back to share a quick layout with you all that I had featured over on the A2Z Scraplets blog late last week.

This layout is titled Daughter and features lots of products from the September Cest Magnifique Kit including the fabulous Kaisercraft True Romance Collection. If you haven’t heard of Cest Magnifique Kit Club then I definately recommend checking them out here. The kits are always stunning and I am always so very happy with the postage time all the way to me in Australia. I get so excited waiting for each kit to come and have been a subscriber on and off for a few years now.

tn_IMG_3962

The background piece of Kaisercraft paper has been decorated using an A2Z Scraplets Leaf Stencilet along with some Modelling Paste. The stencil is actually just over 6 inches so I had to do the masking in 2 stages, first I have masked the top right corner and the bottom left corner and dried with my heat gun. I have then masked the remaining two corners and all without any smudging. Drying the Modelling Paste with the heat gun also creates a much nicer clean 3D puffy effect as I heat it till it boils and bubbles. Please be careful if you try this at home as I am certain that it would pop and not be pleasant if you don’t be careful.

tn_IMG_3963

While I had my modelling paste out, I have smeared a random amount onto my craft sheet and then I have pressed my A2Z Scraplets Chipboard title down into the modelling paste and lifted up quickly and roughly. This has left a fun texture on the title and was really so very simple, easy and looks super shabby!

tn_IMG_3964

The A2Z Scraplets Paisley Chipboard Flourishes have been given a simple misted coat of Heidi Swapp Chantreuse Color Shine Spray which just helped bring out those greens in the beautiful die cut pieces. I just adore the fabulous Kaisercraft True Romance Die Cuts Package and I have used tonnes on this layout but the best part is that I still have literally double if not triple this amount left over for other projects. Love a good value for money product!

tn_IMG_3965

The kit from Cest Magnifique Kit Club included these fabulous Melissa Frances Vellum Envelopes and Tags so I have added a satin seam binding bow to the tag and have journalled on before inserting back into the hidden envelope behind my clusters of die cuts.

tn_IMG_3966

Amongst the gorgeous layers there are also some A2Z Scraplets Chipboard Hearts that have been smeared with a good peanut butter style coating of modelling paste and then sprayed with Lindy’s Stamp Gang Plumeria Pink Flat Fabio Spray. There is also one of the fabulous A2Z Scraplets Chipboard Doilies that I have simply covered with some of the Kaisercraft True Romance Papers and then finished it off by sanding the edges back.

tn_IMG_3967

I have added even more dimension to my layout by popping up some of the butterfly die cut wings making it look like they are about to take flight.

Products used for this layout include…
Cést Magnifique September Kit
Kaisercraft True Romance Collection Papers, Stickers & Die Cuts
A2Z Scraplets Leaves Stencilet
A2Z Scraplets Chipboard title, hearts, paisley flourishes and doilies
Lindy’s Stamp Gang Flat Fabio Plumeria Pink
Melissa Frances Vellum Envelope & Tag
Heidi Swapp Chantreuse Color Shine Spray
Reeves Modelling Paste
Helmar Scrap Dots
Bazzil Marathon Tape Runner
X-Press IT Foam Tape
Satin Seam Binding White

I hope that I have inspired you to get creative with Modelling Paste & A2Z Scraplets Chipboard & Stencilets. I will be back tomorrow with some more inspiration just for you!

Until next time, happy srapping!

PaperHaus Magazine Shabby Tips

Hi everybody! So happy to have you here reading along my blog, keep your eyes out for a new giveaway happening really soon right here!

I am over on the PaperHaus Magazine Blog today sharing my top tips to add Shabby to any project and I have also got a little video to show you how. Click here to view my post on the PaperHaus Blog. Here is  the layout that I have created using these shabby tips…

tn_IMG_3968

This layout is also my entry into this month’s Once Upon A Sketch Challenge. The criteria for the challenge this month was to use the below sketch designed by the fabulous Nadia and then the theme was luck.

One of the main criteria for Once Upon a Sketch is to include proper journalling not just a title. I have extended my title with a little journalling on the bottom of my layout but then have more detailed journalling on the tag that is inside the Melissa Frances Vellum Envelope tucked into the left. My journalling reflects how lucky I am in love to have found a husband who is just as dorky and nerdy as I am LOL. The photo is a silly pose we did at our wedding in the midst of professional photos and smiling lots haha.

Don’t forget to head on over to the Once Upon a Sketch Blog here to enter your interpretation of the challenge also. You have until Midnight tonight.

Don’t forget to also head on over to the PaperHaus Magazine Blog here to check out the rest of the details for this layout along with my top shabby tips video tutorial.
