I also have some super exciting news to share! Eeeekkk I am over the moon thrilled to be a member of the amazing Design Team over at the Color Room! I cannot believe it because the talented ladies on the Color Room team always blow me away and so I am feeling very honoured to work alongside them. Be sure to checkout the Color Room website here and the Facebook page here to keep up to date. If you aren’t aware of the Color Room, it is a challenge site with a new and fabulous Color Palette and sketch each week to inspire. I have actually printed each palette out for as long as I can remember and kept them in a folder because they always inspire me to work with colours I would usually avoid.

Well that is it from me today, hopefully I will be back with some more inspiration over the weekend but until next time, happy scrapping!

Love You Nanna Canvas for Mothers Day

If you are here for my giveaway, click here for more info!

Hi everyone!

I hope you are all well and ready for National Scrapbook Day tomorrow! Yay I am so excited and hoping to get my scrap on and join in lots of online crops happening over the weekend especially the Live with Prima and the Scrapbook.com crops.

I am over on the A2Z Scraplets Blog sharing this canvas that I have made for my mother in law for Mothers Day.

This canvas is 12×12 and to create the background, I have used a variety of masks and some Helmar Textured Effects.

LoveYouNannaCanvasByAmyPrior

I then had fun with lots of different mists including Glimmer Mist, Lindys Stamp Gang Starburst Stain Sprays as well as Dylusions Ink Sprays. When these were dry, I have added some white gesso to shabby it up a little more. Bright and shabby is a serious favourite style of mine at the moment LOL.

The fabulous A2Z Scraplets Heart has been simply embossed with some WOW Embossing Powder. I have attached it over a beautiful cluster of Handmade Halo & Prima flowers along with some beautiful Handmade Halo Charms, Fabric Stickers and Flourish with a Bling goodies.

Behind the photo is a darling doily that I have cut using my Silhouette Cameo and some Prima Marketing Firefly Papers. I have also framed the photo with a fabulous A2Z Scraplets Nested Scallop Chipboard piece. Again I have embossed this piece using WOW Embossing Powder but I have done a very random spotty job so I would have lots of the raw chipboard shining through still. I then added some Viva Pink Glimmer Mist to that and allowed it to dry. I just adore all of the nested chipboard packs that A2Z Scraplets has to offer. They are so versatile and you get so many pieces for your money!

The title was created using the A2Z Scraplets Nanna Title Chipboard. To get this effect, I have added very small random amounts of Blue Tim Holtz Crackle Paint and allowed to dry completely. Then I have simply sprayed some White Mister Hueys Spray over the top to mute it down a little and add some more shabby.

Here are those fabulous A2Z Scraplets that I have used. Click on the images to view and purchased them on the website.

Mothers Day Canvas Gift

If you are here for my giveaway, click here for more info!

Howdy everybody! I hope you are all well and I hope the weather is lovely wherever you are. Today we have a beautiful sunny day here and it definately is not feeling like the end of Autumn!

Today I have a canvas to share with you all. I have created this canvas for my dear mum or mother in law for Mothers Day. I am making a second one too that I will share with you on Friday that will be a little different.

MothersDayCanvasForNannaByAmyPrior

This canvas was also created using the fabulous Photo Inspiration Challenge over at Flourish with a Bling.  Here is the photo that I got my inspiration from…

And now for some closeups…

MothersDayCanvasForNannaByAmyPrior2

The beautiful flowers are a mixture of Prima, Kaisercraft, Green Tara & Handmade Halo. Among the Flower Cluster, I have some fabulous Prima Shabby Resin as well as some Green Tara Beaded Stems.

MothersDayCanvasForNannaByAmyPrior3

To create the textured background, I have first covered the entire canvas with texture paste using a Prima Stencil. I have then sprayed the background with various Mists after placing some doilies randomly. I then have removed the doilies, splattered some acrylic paint, and then masked again, this time using WOW Embossing Powders.

MothersDayCanvasForNannaByAmyPrior4

To finish off the backgroun, I have glooped some Embossing Ink Refill and allowed to dry overnight. When it is still tacky, I have then embossed using various WOW Embossing Powders.

MothersDayCanvasForNannaByAmyPrior5

I had lots of fun creating this canvas and was definately inspired by Stacey Young’s Prima Canvas Creation.

Thanks so much for reading along, don’t forget to leave me a comment so I can come visit your blog too.

Until next time, happy scrapping!

Mothers Day Cards

If you are here for my giveaway, click here for more info!

Hi everyone! I hope you are all well. Today I have 2 cards to share with you that I have made for my mother and mother in law for this upcoming Mothers Day on the 12th May. Now my lovely mother needs to stop reading now if she is reading this blog post hehe.

I have created both these cards using the Prima April Challenge Palette which you can view here. Here is the palette full of beautiful spring colours…

And here is the first card that I have created. For both cards, I have used the Prima Donna Downey Designed Firefly collection which is probably one of my all time fave collections ever. I just love the vibrant colours and artistic style of these papers.

I have simply layered various pieces of patterned paper along with a Prima Chipboard Accent here. All the Patterned Papers were distressed using my Prima Ingvild Blome Distress Tool.

HappyMothersDayCardByAmyPrior

I have finished off the card with some beautiful Prima flowers that I have shabbied up with some Gesso, followed by a gorgeous Prima Resin and some Prima Font. The trim I have used is the only non-Prima product and this trim is from Melissa Frances. I just adore her lines!

HappyMothersDayCardByAmyPrior2

Now for the next card, I have used my Silhouette Cameo Machine to cut a Doily from the Firefly papers as well as using a regular paper doily.

out for publication - Page 001

I have machine stitched the edges of the paper as well as around the doily centre.

LoveYouMumCardByAmyPrior2 LoveYouMumCardByAmyPrior3

The card was simply finished off with an array of amazing Prima flowers, Prima Shabby Resin and a Prima Heart on top! Again I have shabbied these flowers up with some Gesso. I would usually use white acrylic paint but somehow I have ran out! Eeeekkk

Well that is it from me today, thanks so much for reading along and don’t forget to leave me a comment 🙂 I would love to checkout your blogs too.

Until next time, happy scrapping!

Once Upon A Sketch April

If you are here for my giveaway, click here for more info!

Hi everybody! So glad to have you all here reading along with my artsy journey. It is so good to be back sharing my passion with you all.

Today I have a layout to share that was based on the April sketch on the Once Upon A Sketch Blog. Unfortunately my entry was too late but wanted to share anyway 🙂

Here is the sketch that Nadia has designed this month…

Here is my take on the sketch. I have used the gorgeous papers from Maja Design Vintage Summer Basics Line.

Can'tLiveWithoutMyGirlsByAmyPrior

To create the background, I have layered random snippets of my 6×6 Crafters Workshop Brick Stencil using a thick amount of Metallic Viva Acrylic Paint and a Palette Knife. Once this was dry, I have added some Champagne Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam over the top roughly to create a more vintage tone.

Can'tLiveWithoutMyGirlsByAmyPrior2

The paper pieces have been distressed using the Ingvild Blome Prima Distress Tool and then inked using Tim Holtz Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.

Can'tLiveWithoutMyGirlsByAmyPrior3

The fabulous A2Z Scraplets Chipboard Chicken Wire was cut to varying sizes to suit my layout and then painted with Viva Metallic Paint Mother of Pearl. The Title, which is also from A2Z, has been sprayed using Lindys Stampgang Moonshadow Starburst Stain Sprays. I just love these sprays because you get a variation of 2 different colour inks along with 2 different colour glimmers. The effect is truly incredible! I have added some little bits of Gesso with my finger on the top to shabby it up a little.

Can'tLiveWithoutMyGirlsByAmyPrior4

Majority of the gorgeous flowers are from Handmade Halo as well as all of the pretty little charms and the trim. I have added a small amount of gesso to the tips of the flowers to give them a more shabby feel and the charms have a small amount of Gesso plus Champagne Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam.

Be sure to head on over to the Handmade Halo website here and the A2Z Scraplets website here, to grab yourself some pretties. Don’t forget that A2Z Scraplets can also custom make anything you like, just click the custom order link on the website.

Well that’s it for now, until next time, happy scrapping!

Berry71Bleu April Challenge

If you are here for my giveaway, click here for more info!

Hi everyone! I hope you are all well and enjoying this lovely Friday where ever you are.

Today I am here to share with you my entry into April’s Berry71bleu Challenge which you can view here.

This month’s challenge is “April Showers bring May Flowers”. Of course here in Australia we are gearing up for Winter but in the US the flowers are in bloom and this fabulous picture board was actually created of photos from the Berry71bleu Designer Debbie’s garden! How awesome! I wish my garden looked this pretty.

So the challenge is simple, show off some beautiful flowers and I certainly hope I have done the challenge justice with this gorgeous layout…

IMG_2124

How precious is my girl Mia? This was the hospital photo taken by the professionals who go around the local Maternity Ward. This photo was so large that I wanted to frame it but thought it was too plain and white with the terry toweling background she was laying on.

IMG_2125 IMG_2126

As you can see, I decided that Mia was going to be laying in a bed of flowers, literally. I fussy cut out the picture of her sleeping and then using some gorgeous Maja Designs Vintage Summer Basics Papers I got to work. First off I have layered some Cheesecloth that was ripped and torn up using some Ranger Studio Multi Medium. When this was layered, I have added a very VERY thick layer of Helmar Scrap Dots into the centre of the back of the photo and stuck into place lightly so it is raised about 1 inch from the layout.

IMG_2127

While the scrapdots were still wet, I have gone to town literally with flowers galore out of my stash. Brands include Handmade Halo, Manor House Creations, Prima, Green Tara, Kaisercraft & more. When all the flowers were in place, I have cut up some Flourish with a Bling flourishes to suit the layout and then adhered some single pearls around the page  also.

The final touches were to add some white paint to the tips of the flowers to shabby them up a bit, and then to add some of my fave embellishments, of course, the Handmade Halo Antique Brass Charms. How perfect are they as an addition to any layout? There is literally hundreds and thousands of different types.

The Original Photo had a frame printed on in white and at the bottom of the frame was the information “Mia Tiana Prior Born on 23rd May 2007”. I didn’t want to overwhelm the layout more with a massive title so I decided to cut this strip of information out and trimmed the ends to look like a banner. Finally a little touch of Tim Holtz Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink (which I also used around the edges of the layout) and voila! Another completed layout in a suprisingly short amount of time.

This will of course have to be framed in a shadow box I think and put on display as it is just too pretty (not to mention 3Dimensional) to go into an album.

Don’t forget to head on over to www.handmadehalo.com.au and pickup some fabulous Antique Brass Charms and mulberry flowers.

Until next time, happy scrapping.

Prima BAP April

Howdy everybody! Today I wanted to share with you all my entry for this month’s Prima BAP Challenge. You can view the April Challenges over on the Prima Marketing Blog HERE and here is the sketch…

I have changed it up a bit because I just love to add lots of yummy layers but you can still see that my inspiration comes from the sketch.

IMG_2115

I have used the gorgeous Zephyr Collection along with a Prima Donna Downey Stencil, Gesso, Dylusions Ink Sprays, Lindys Stamp Gang Starburst Sprays and some Glimmer Mists.

 IMG_2116 IMG_2117 IMG_2119

I have added some Gesso to the tips of the gorgeous bright flowers to subdue them a tad. I just love the Shabby Style of this layout but with such bright vibrant colours.

Well that is it from me today, be sure to head on over and checkout my big Giveaway over here.

Until next time, happy scrapping!

A quick simple layout

Hi everyone! I hope you are all well.

Today I have a lovely quick and easy page to share with you all. Sometimes a photo calls for a simple layout and when I found this 5×7 printed photo, I simply knew that was the case here.

IMG_2099

I have created this layout using some simple white cardstock and the fabulous Scrap Cake Bright Side of Life patterned papers and an oval doily.

I seriously love this collection and although it is probably classed as an old collection, I just cannot stop using it! I think I will cry when I run out of these papers.

IMG_2101

To decorate the page, I have simply machine stitched around the edges of the patterned paper, then finished off with some precious Melissa Frances Shabby Resins and a gorgeous Prima Flower Vine.

IMG_2100

The fabulous title is one of Heidi Swapp’s gorgeous title stickers. Isn’t her font just fabulous? I love her handwritten style and I especially love all her products she has released using the font.

IMG_2102

Well that is it from me today, I hope you are all inspired by this layout and I cannot wait to share more with you tomorrow. Don’t forget to head on over to the blog post here and enter to win my fabulous new blog giveaway prize!!

Until next time, happy scrapping!
