A2Z Scraplets October Sketch Challenge & CSI Case File #91

Hi everybody! I am back today to share the awesome new challenge over at the A2Z Scraplets blog this month. Caz has chosen a fabulous PageMaps Sketch for us to play along with this month and I um strayed a lot from the sketch in the end because I printed my photo too big and other reasons totally beyond my control but you can still sort of squint and see the original sketch inspiration in my layout LOL. I also decided to tie in with the current CSI Challenge Theme and colours so check out that case file at the end of my blog post and all the details for that challenge. Click here to visit the A2Z Scraplets Blog Post outlining the October Challenge details.

Here is the Sketch…

Here is my take on the sketch using lots of fabulous A2Z Scraplets products including Brickwall Stencilet, Shapes – Speech Bubbles, Just Hangin Out Title, Doodlet 20 & Doodlet 26.

tn_JustHangingOutWithTheKangaroosByAmyPrior

The background paper is from 7 Dots Studio and I have added some Artichoke Shimmerz Texture Paste using the A2Z Brickwall Stencil. I am so in love with these Shimmerz Texture pastes and I definately need to get my hands on some more colours. They are so fun and grainy and chunky so they look perfect with the A2Z Scraplets Brickwall Stencilet. I have also splatters some little droplets of Heidi Swapp Color Shine Mists over the background as well to add a touch more colour.

tn_JustHangingOutWithTheKangaroosByAmyPrior_closeup1

My Chipboard title “Just Hangin Out” from A2Z Scraplets has also was covered with the awesome Arti Choked Texture Paste from Shimmerz. I have smeared some of this on my Craft Mat and then dipped the Chipboard title face down into the texture paste. I have then outlined the letters in black permanent texta so you can read it a little easier.

tn_JustHangingOutWithTheKangaroosByAmyPrior_closeup2

The fabulous Doodlets from A2Z Scraplets have been layered on top of each other for a fabulous fun effect but before I have layered them together, I have sprayed them randomly with various Heidi Swapp Color Shine Mists keeping one in cool colours and one in warm colours, Teal, Mustard, Sweet Cherry, Chantreuse & Primrose. Spraying in random spots adds texture without adding texture if you get what I mean? LOL Don’t you love my technical way of describing things?

tn_JustHangingOutWithTheKangaroosByAmyPrior_closeup3

My paper layers are randomly layered pieces varying from Crate Paper, Studio Calico, My Minds Eye & 7 Dots Studio. The only piece of paper that I really put a lot of thought into was the Crate Paper Pier Collection Giant Chevron pattern. The original patterned paper had various colours including lots of shades of blues, pinks etc and they did not all match with the colour palette from the CSI challenge so I have fussy cut out the pieces of chevron that had the right colours and then stuck them back together to perfectly match my layout.

tn_JustHangingOutWithTheKangaroosByAmyPrior_closeup4

There are lots of fabulous Printed Chipboard pieces on this layout also including some from My Minds Eye & Teresa Collins.  I had lots of fun doodling all over this layout when it was finished and decided at the last minute to add some Clear Epoxy Dots to the background paper as well. I have used Prima Marketing ones alongside some Tim Holtz Bottle Cap Clear Stickers.

tn_JustHangingOutWithTheKangaroosByAmyPrior_closeup5

My journalling was written on the A2Z Scraplets Speech Bubbles that have been covered with coordinating papers from my layout. I have then doodled around them and journalled about this awesome day hanging out with the kangaroos at the Reptile Park.

Products used for this layout include…
A2Z Scraplets Brickwall Stencilet

One Heart, One Love, One Destiny – New A2Z Scraplets July Release Chipboard

Are you here for my June/July Giveaway? Click here for more info after you have read this post of course :)

Hi everyone! I am back today to share another fabulous new release chipboard from the awesome July A2Z Scraplets release. Check out the first release blog post here. I will be sharing my projects here on my blog also 1 at a time so keep checking back for the rest of my creations including how tos.

The layout I have to share today is titled One Heart, One Loev, One Destiny and is using the fabulous new A2Z Scraplets title “One Love One Heart One Destiny”. I have cut up the title to spread around my page and I have used the always fabulous, Maja Design papers for this layout and to create the background, I have added some texture paste over a Heidi Swapp Stencil and then done some random stamping using a Stampin Up Background Stamp and Ranger Coffee Archival Ink.

tn_IMG_3336

I decided that I wanted to cut some pretty elements out using my Silhouette Cameo so after choosing some fabulous cut files, I have cut out a gorgeous frame and some swirls and foilage with the Maja Design Papers. I also cut some banners and layered them together with a doily and did some machine stitching.

tn_IMG_3337

The chipboard title was simply covered with a thin layer of Gesso and then stamped with the Stampin Up Background stamp that was used for the background, using some Coffee Ranger Archival Ink.

tn_IMG_3338

To finish off this fabulously shabby layout, I have added some lace from Green Tara and other random lace I had in my stash, plus a tonne of fabulous Prima Marketing Flowers alongside some yummy Ingvild Blome Shabby Resin.

tn_IMG_3339

I have added some texture paste to the ends of the flower petals to help shabby them up a little more and then I decided to add all my sewing threads to the cluster.

tn_IMG_3340

I decided at the last minute to add some blue Tim Holtz Distress Ink to my Chipboard titles to help try make them pop more and I have done this simply with a wet paintbrush straight from the Distress Ink Pad.

Thanks so much for reading along and don’t forget to come back tomorrow for another new release share from A2Z Scraplets.

Until next time, happy scrapping!

Berry71Bleu Guest Designer for May

If you are here for my giveaway, click here. Only 3 more days to enter!

Hi everyone! Today I am back to share a layout that I have created as a Guest Designer for Berry71Bleu this month. The challenge was to use the May Once Upon a Time Sketch Challenge as well as incorporate some chipboard so of course I used some A2Z Scraplets on my page. Checkout the Berry71Bleu blog here.

The challenge this month was to play along with the Once Upon A Sketch Challenge but also using some chipboard. Here is the sketch.

I decided to use some 7 Dots Studio Patterned Paper and elements for this layout. To start I have added some texture to a white 12×12 piece of cardstock. To do this, I have used an A2Z Scraplets Masklet with some Viva Decor Pearl Modelling Paste. When this was dry, I have doodled around a couple of the arrows. As you can see, I have used the stencil 2 different ways for a more interesting visual effect.

tn_BirthdayGirlByAmyPrior

To decorate the birthday present A2Z Scraplet Chipboard piece, I have used 4 different shades of Perfect Pearls Powder that were all mixed with some Texture Paste. I made the paste really thick so it would create some fun texture on the chipboard. When this was dry, I have inked the top with some Black Archival Ink.

tn_BirthdayGirlByAmyPrior5

Before I started layering my elements down, I decided I wanted some colour on the background. To do this I have simply splattered some Pink Dylusions Ink as well as some Blue Lindys Stamp Gang Starburst Stain Spray. To create splatters easily, I spray some of the mist into the lid of the bottle and then hold above my page about 30cm and drop. If you want to create a bigger splash go a little further and vice versa.

tn_BirthdayGirlByAmyPrior2

The Birthday Girl Chipboard title was trimmed to fit my layout better and I have coated the letters with some Pearl Viva Decor Modelling Paste very roughly to create lots of texture. I then inked the top with some Black Archival Ink and moved onto the Cupcake Chipboard piece that I had removed. To decorate this I have simply sprayed some Lindys Stamp Gang Starburst Stain Spray over.

tn_BirthdayGirlByAmyPrior3

The last chipboard element, the double photo frames, were coated with some of the fabulous 7 Dots Studio co-ordinating papers and then the edges were sanded back roughly. I have also sanded back the edges of all my layers of paper to add some more white distressing but then I decided to ink around the edges of some of the stickers and embellishments with Archival Black Ink to add some more black distressing to the page.

Love U Always

Hi everyone! I am back to share a quick layout with you all today featuring a pic of my fabulous husband Joel.

To create this layout, I have used various Heidi Swapp papers from both the Sugar Chic collection and the No Limits Collection. I just adore Heidi’s ranges and I was so happy to be able to use some of the super girly range Sugar Chic in a more masculine way.

out for publication - Page 001

Now I never pretend to be very good at male themed layouts but I think I have done my hubby justice here with lots of manly features alongside bright colours and a ray of sunshine feel. To decorate the background, I have used the Harlequin Crafters Workshop Stencil with a mixture Teal Bombay India Ink and some Texture Paste. I also used the negative from 2 A2Z Scraplets cogs packs to add some cog shapes around the border and before they had a chance to dry, I have quickly sprinkled some Silver Micro Beads to add some metallic effect to the cogs. I still wasn’t 100% happy with the cogs so I have gone and coloured some A2Z Scraplets Cog Chipboard pieces using some Dylusions Ink Sprays and Perfect Pearls Mists. Gotta add some sparkle in there hehehe.

tn_LoveYouAlwaysByAmyPrior2

I wanted to add this fabulous A2Z Scraplets Starburst to the layout as well and decided I would layer it with lots of fun papers. I simply sprayed it with some Yellow Perfect Pearls Mist and allowed to dry before I stuck everything down and slotted the starburst in between layers.

tn_LoveYouAlwaysByAmyPrior3

Lots of final touches included some Heidi Swapp Buzz Words, Charms Creations Super Star along with some doodling and journalling. I also decided to add some washi tape and Heidi Swapp Phrase Stickers as well. Doesn’t it look fab? How awesome are Heidi’s product? She is definately an idol of mine. 🙂

Can You Please Smile

If you are here for my giveaway, click here. Only 15 more days to enter!

Hello there! So lovely to have you all here. I hope you are all well and in good health. My poor little family has suffered from a nasty virus this week and we are slowly getting back to the land of the living. Not fun at all. Unfortunately this means I have rested and cared for my babies all week long and haven’t had a chance to scrap much. On Monday however, I did get this layout finished that I wanted to share…

CanYouPleaseSmileByAmyPrior

To create this layout, I have used various elements from the Prima Marketing Tea Thyme Collection. I just adore this collection of whimsy pretty patterns, I mean who doesn’t? Girly girl lines are always a huge fave of mine and I especially love the flowers used on this collection.

CanYouPleaseSmileByAmyPrior2

The background paper I chose was already so perfect however I wanted to add more texture using a stencil and some machine stitching. I have simply used some Texture Paste with the Donna Downey Prima Stencil to create the most subtle effect. The edges have been distressed a lot using a nail file.

CanYouPleaseSmileByAmyPrior3   CanYouPleaseSmileByAmyPrior4   CanYouPleaseSmileByAmyPrior5

The hidden journalling outlines the story of this too cute photo and is nestled under a gorgeous Satin Seam Binding Bow. The chipboard bird is, of course, from A2Z Scraplets and has been embossed using WOW Embossing Powders in 4 different colours and then finished off with white embossing powder followed by some Lindys Stamp Gang Starburst Stain Spray. The textured effect was created by simply sponging on some Gesso to prime the chipboard before I applied any other products. Flourish with a Bling pearls finished off the flower centres just perfectly!

Well that is it from me today as I go off to finish cleaning up my house from the lovely week that was. Until next time, happy scrapping!

The Color Room #150

If you are here for my giveaway, click here for more info!

Howdy everybody! I am so very excited to be sharing this layout with you all today as my first week designing for the Color Room. I am so over the moon, these ladies have been setting the benchmark for amazing designs for so long so I am completely honoured to be included in the team.

Although I was too late to get in this week’s release, I have played along anyway with this fortnight’s palette. Here it is…

150

What a fabulous palette for either a boy or girl layout. Click here to view the Color Room Website and click here to visit their Facebook Page and join in the fun. There are so many amazing prizes up for grabs!

out for publication - Page 001

Now onto some closeups of course. The patterned paper of choice for this layout was a combination of Heidi Swapp and Studio Calico. The background was given more textured layers by adding some Kaisercraft Paint mixed with Texture Paste using a Crafters Workshop Stencil. When the paint was still wet, I have sprinkled some Orange Micro Beads over the top and then splattered some random spots of Perfect Pearls Mist. Next I have used some Punchinella with Distress Ink to create the circles randomly and followed by some random stamping using my Stampin Up Background Stamp and some WOW Embossing Powder.

PureBeautyByAmyPrior2

The easiest way to create such a random embossed effect, is to stamp the entire surface using embossing adhesive, followed by pouring the powder over like normal. Before you heat set it, grab yourself a paint brush and brush away random sections of the powder including very solid blocks and lines etc. This gives a more natural feel and some of the embossing powder stuck to the micro beads which I thought was a cool effect.

PureBeautyByAmyPrior3

The Banners and Brace Shape Chipboar pieces are of course from A2Z Scraplets. The Banner has been covered with some super cute Washi Tape that I found at my local Kmart store last week. I have then added some White Pearl Strips and sprayed with Lindys Stamp Gang Fabio Spray. The Brace shape was first covered with a red patterned paper and then some orange striped washi tape was used over the top. I didn’t have much Tangerine so figured this was a good way to create it but it just turned out Orange so I went ahead and sprayed some Orange Perfect Pearls Mist over the top anyway. Gotta add that sparkle!

PureBeautyByAmyPrior4

Lots of other beautiful elements to this layout including Handmade Halo Mulberry Flower that I have coloured using Lindys Stamp Gang Fabio Spray, Charms Creations Page Runner, My Minds Eye Printed Chipboard Piece as well as some Studio Calico Tags.

Overall I was really happy with how this layout turned out as these colours are definately out of my comfort zone. Be sure to head on over to the Color Room website here and play along for your chance to win some fab prizes.

Well that is it from me today, thanks so much for reading and don’t forget to leave me a comment so I can come visit you as well.

Until next time, happy scrapping!
