A2Z Scraplets October Sketch Challenge & CSI Case File #91

Hi everybody! I am back today to share the awesome new challenge over at the A2Z Scraplets blog this month. Caz has chosen a fabulous PageMaps Sketch for us to play along with this month and I um strayed a lot from the sketch in the end because I printed my photo too big and other reasons totally beyond my control but you can still sort of squint and see the original sketch inspiration in my layout LOL. I also decided to tie in with the current CSI Challenge Theme and colours so check out that case file at the end of my blog post and all the details for that challenge. Here is the Sketch…

Here is my take on the sketch using lots of fabulous A2Z Scraplets products including Brickwall Stencilet, Shapes – Speech Bubbles, Just Hangin Out Title, Doodlet 20 & Doodlet 26.

The background paper is from 7 Dots Studio and I have added some Artichoke Shimmerz Texture Paste using the A2Z Brickwall Stencil. I am so in love with these Shimmerz Texture pastes and I definately need to get my hands on some more colours. They are so fun and grainy and chunky so they look perfect with the A2Z Scraplets Brickwall Stencilet. I have also splatters some little droplets of Heidi Swapp Color Shine Mists over the background as well to add a touch more colour.

My Chipboard title “Just Hangin Out” from A2Z Scraplets has also was covered with the awesome Arti Choked Texture Paste from Shimmerz. I have smeared some of this on my Craft Mat and then dipped the Chipboard title face down into the texture paste. I have then outlined the letters in black permanent texta so you can read it a little easier.

The fabulous Doodlets from A2Z Scraplets have been layered on top of each other for a fabulous fun effect but before I have layered them together, I have sprayed them randomly with various Heidi Swapp Color Shine Mists keeping one in cool colours and one in warm colours, Teal, Mustard, Sweet Cherry, Chantreuse & Primrose. Spraying in random spots adds texture without adding texture if you get what I mean? LOL Don’t you love my technical way of describing things?

My paper layers are randomly layered pieces varying from Crate Paper, Studio Calico, My Minds Eye & 7 Dots Studio. The only piece of paper that I really put a lot of thought into was the Crate Paper Pier Collection Giant Chevron pattern. The original patterned paper had various colours including lots of shades of blues, pinks etc and they did not all match with the colour palette from the CSI challenge so I have fussy cut out the pieces of chevron that had the right colours and then stuck them back together to perfectly match my layout.

There are lots of fabulous Printed Chipboard pieces on this layout also including some from My Minds Eye & Teresa Collins.  I had lots of fun doodling all over this layout when it was finished and decided at the last minute to add some Clear Epoxy Dots to the background paper as well. I have used Prima Marketing ones alongside some Tim Holtz Bottle Cap Clear Stickers.

My journalling was written on the A2Z Scraplets Speech Bubbles that have been covered with coordinating papers from my layout. I have then doodled around them and journalled about this awesome day hanging out with the kangaroos at the Reptile Park.

A couple more Bella Boulevard Shares

Hi everybody! I hope you are all well and enjoying your weekend. It is a long weekend here in Australia well at least in NSW it is so enjoy the long weekend to all my other Aussie fans who get to enjoy it also.

I have a couple more Bella Boulevard layouts to share with you all today. I am loving the bright colours and fun patterns of Bella Boulevard Collections lately especially for scrapping my girls and my niece Aurora.

This first layout is a photo of my niece Aurora at her 1st birthday party. Isn’t she a cutie?

I have added lots of random rounded corners on this layout for a fun effect and fussy cut the gorgeous little hippo out.

This next page is very red, pink and white and is showcasing the photo I took the day both my girls got their ears pierced this year. I had been putting it off for years and they were so excited and scared to finally get them done.

Conversations with Chloe…

Hi everyone! I am back with another uber quick share today which may look a little familiar to some of you. That would be because I created this layout in a mirror image but the same with my daughter Mia also. Click here to visit that blog post and see the other page…

I had so much fun interviewing my girls for these layouts and making them pose for the pictures LOL I have printed the photos onto Glossy A4 paper and then fussy cut them both out.

The papers, stickers and fussy cut sun shape were all from Bella Boulevard various collections and I have used my Silhouette Cameo and white cardstock to cut the Speech Bubbles out before mounting onto more Bella Boulevard papers.

I have masked my background paper using the Prima Marketing Static 12×12 Stencil and some Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint in Picket Fence White. I cannot believe that I have never tried this before cause it looks so cool using the crackle paint eeekk a new favourite technique perhaps…

Most of the fabulous elements used for this page were from the September Cést Magnifique Kit including the fabulous Melissa France Vellum Envelope & Tag that is snuck behind the little birdie doily here…

as well as the fabulous Prima Marketing Say it in Pearls & Crystals Bling Circles. Aren’t they super cute? The flowers vary from Manor House Creations, Kaisercraft, Prima Marketing and Petaloo and the gorgeous double layered buttterflies are also from Petaloo and were also included in the kit.

The chipboard chicken wire is from A2Z Scraplets and has had a very rough coat of Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint in Picket Fence White. I just love adding these chicken wire/hexagon shapes behind details on my layouts and the best part is that I have used it so much on this layout yet I have only used 1 piece of chipboard so it is sooo worth the $2.50 price tag! White With 1 October Challenge – Watermelon

Hi everyone! I am so excited to be here to share my first official challenge as a White with 1 Design Team Member. White with 1 is a super fun and popular scrapbooking challenge blog where the aim of the challenge is to include only white and 1 colour in your entire layout. A tiny bit of black is allowd for journalling distressing etc but that is it!

Here is my take on the challenge.

The sponsor for this month’s challenge is 2Crafty chipboard so the Design Team all got lots of little chipboard bits to play with.

I have had these photos of my eldest daughter Mia with her bestest buddy Tayla for a while and really thought they were perfect to use with this colour palette.

The background paper is Heidi Swapp Color Magic and has been sprayed with a mixture of Heidi Swapp Sweet Cherry & Primrose Color Shine Sprays randomly. I have then added a drippy crackle paint circle over and over again around the entire background which added lots of fun white texture.

The patterned papers vary as I raided my entire stash to get this watermelon variety but some brands include Fancy Pants Designs, My Minds Eye, BoBunny, Websters Pages, Kaisercraft and many more.

Lots of other gorgeous elements were included in this layout including the super pretty Jasmine Puffy Flourish in white from Flourish with a Bling.

Scrapbooking from Scratch September Quote & Sketch Challenge

Hi everyone, this is just a quick post with a couple of challenge entries before the month ends tonight. Man can you believe that it is October in 15 hours sheesh I seriously don’t remember how this year has gone so fast but it has flown by.

Yesterday I posted a layout that I wanted to enter into the Scrapbooking From Scratch Sketch Challenge but alas I did not read the rules properly and I was supposed to do an exclusive layout for the challenge but I was naughty and combined the Jot Mood Board challenge with it so I have done a new layout with the same awesome sketch. Here is the sketch again and checkout all the September Challenges on the Scrapbooking from Scratch Blog here.

Here is my new take on the sketch titled Explore Pretty Beach.

The layout is featuring a gorgeous photo of my 2 girls recently as we were watching the millions of Soldier Crabs scurrying across the sand next to the warf. They are so fascinating to watch and the girls just love going there especially with the awesome park that is across the road.

I have used the Crate Paper Pier Collection papers for this layout as well as some of the Ephemera Die Cuts Pack.

The background has been masked with some Modelling Paste and a Crafters Workshop Template and I have finished it off by adding some Prima Marketing Enamel Dots.

Other bits that I have added include Heidi Swapp Polaroid frame, Acetate Border&  Buzz Words as well as some stickers from My Minds Eye

Other little bits I have added include the peg, vellum, burlap trim and some Charms Creations Banners.

Next up is the Quote Challenge set by Charm this month and the quote was  “Life is Good”

Here is my take on the challenge titled 4 Wheel Fun.

I have used the Studio Calico Sundrifter Collection for this layout as my patterned papers and then I have added lots of fabulous other details including lots of Heidi Swapp Color Shine Mist in the background as droplets.

The stickers are various from My Minds Eye, BoBunny, Studio Calico & Jilibean Soup.

I have added a gorgeous Charms Creations Heart & Cloud to my layout and some Burlap trim behind the layers also.

I have used the quote Life is Good numerous times over the layout including in stickers and Tim Holtz Tiny Chat stickers.

A2Z Scraplets September Blind Challenge – Believe to Achieve

Hi everyone! I am back today to share with you all my example layout for the A2Z Scraplets September Blind Challenge. Did you see it? Click here to visit the A2Z Scraplets blog post to find out how to enter. You have until midnight tonight so hurry!

What is a Blind Challenge I hear you say? Well a blind challenge is very simple. All participants are given the exact same set of basic instructions including measurements etc to create a scrapbook layout from and email to the Challenge Coordinator. How each person interprets the instructions is the truly amazing part, no 2 projects ever look the same and some vary so drastically which is so very exciting to see.

All entries and examples have been left a secret until today, the last day of the month so no one could copy layouts etc. You can see some more inspiration from our Design Team on the A2Z Scraplets blog right here. We all had so much fun playing along with this and even I, the one who wrote the instructions, couldn’t keep to my own directions and have added and changed bits LOL. The whole point is to have fun and get inspiration in a new way.

One of the very first instructions was to mask the background in 2 corners and add splatters. The instructions only mention one colour also but I was trying to go for the Chalkboard effect and wasn’t happy so needed to add some Colourful Splatters LOL. I have used the A2Z Scraplets Checkerplate Stencilet for it.

The white masking and droplets were created using Dylusions White Ink Spray and I have then sprayed my A2Z Scraplets Believe to Achieve Title with the White Dylusions as well. When I was splattering my background with colour using some Heidi Swapp Color Shine, I have also splattered lots of tiny droplet of colour onto the A2Z Scraplets Chipboard title and I have then dooled around the edges using a black pen.

The fabulous papers and stickers that I have used are from the Fancy Pants Wonderful Day Collection and I have added lots of doodling and random stitching for added interest around these. Another part that was not in the instructions was the photo matting that I have done with the Red Paper from Fancy Pants LOL I know I am so naughty, I can’t ever follow directions especially my own haha. How fun is that cork paper?

My flowers were created using left over papers and I will have a video up in the next couple of days showing how I did these so stay tuned.
